This contemporary residential project of over 3850 sq. ft. included an open floor plan; curtain wall commercial window systems; and wide use of concrete, masonry, glass and metals. The house had unique challenges, particularly in achieving necessary zoning variances and building permits. All mechanical and electrical systems were designed by the individual contractors to satisfy unique heating and cooling demands.

In addition, Vander Meulen Builders worked with the architect to ensure structural stability while maintaining the desired degree of openness in the plan. The house was featured in the Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publication: Kitchen & Bath Ideas, in the Jan/Feb 2006 issue.
